During Black History Month, we would like to use this week to highlight inventors.
Lonnie Johnson grew up in a segregated school in Alabama. Despite being the only black student at the state science fair, he managed to take first prize. He went on to work at NASA. While working on a cooling system for a space station, he accidentally invented the Super Soaker. This invention has earned him over one billion dollars in sales, as well as bringing fun and joy to children everywhere.
