Theodore "Ted" Corbitt

Ted Corbitt was a 22-time Boston Marathoner, Olympian, and one of the best distance runners in U.S. history. Corbitt finished Boston in under three hours for 19 consecutive years, completing his final Boston in 1974 at the age of 55 in 2:49:16. Corbitt helped guide the Pioneers Run Club of New York City to win the team title at both the 1955 and 1957 Boston Marathons. A founder of the New York Road Runners and member of the National Black Marathoners Hall of Fame class of 2013, we honor Ted Corbitt as a running pioneer.
